Straight answers about how SkillsBridge works, what it costs, and how we handle visa-specific situations.
Primarily international students on OPT/CPT and IT professionals working through H1B who are looking for full-time or contract roles in the US IT market. We also work with entry-to-mid level candidates who have relevant skills but are struggling to get traction in their job search.
Our core service is placement support — resume and profile building, active marketing to employers, interview prep, and post-placement support. We're not a bootcamp. If you need to build skills first, we'll point you toward the right certifications or courses, but the focus of our service is getting your existing skills in front of the right people.
You can absolutely apply yourself — and you should keep doing that. What we add is the parts that are hard to do alone: a resume and profile rewritten with recruiter-side knowledge of what gets noticed, and active outreach to our own recruiter and employer contacts on your behalf, which gets your profile in front of people who might never see your application in a stack of hundreds.
Our fee structure combines an upfront component for the resume, profile, and strategy work, with an additional success-based payment when you're placed. The exact breakdown depends on the scope of support you need — we'll walk through this in detail during your free consultation before anything is agreed.
We review your resume, LinkedIn, and (if you have one) portfolio or GitHub, and give you honest feedback on what's working, what's likely getting you filtered out, and where the biggest opportunities are. There's no obligation to continue after this — it's a genuinely useful starting point on its own.
It varies a lot depending on your background, target roles, and the current job market. The resume/profile rebuild usually takes one to two weeks of back-and-forth. After that, active marketing and interview prep is ongoing until you're placed — there's no fixed timeline we can guarantee, and we won't pretend otherwise.
No — and we'd be skeptical of anyone who tells you they can. What we commit to is doing the work that meaningfully improves your chances: a stronger profile, active outreach, and real interview preparation. The success-based portion of our pricing is our way of staying accountable to actually helping you get there.
It can, depending on whether a company is set up to handle OPT/STEM OPT employees and future H1B sponsorship. Part of our strategy session is identifying which target companies and roles realistically fit your timeline, so you're not spending energy on applications that were never going to go anywhere.
Yes — many of our candidates are actively studying while job hunting. We work around your class schedule, and we factor your CPT authorization timeline and any school requirements into the roles we help you target.
Yes. H1B transfer candidates are one of the groups we work with most. We focus on positioning your profile for companies that regularly handle H1B transfers, and prepare you for the kinds of questions that come up around timing and current employer relationships.
No — we're a career advisory, not an immigration law firm. We can share what we've seen work in practice from a hiring/staffing perspective, but for anything involving your visa filing, status changes, or legal questions, you should work with a qualified immigration attorney. We're happy to coordinate around timelines your attorney gives you.
